INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS 5 2010 • ISPO formalises its cooperation with international partner organisations by establishing the Open Board (now GPEx). 2014 • The first ISPO Global Educators Meeting takes place in Kobe, Japan. 2017 • The WHO Standards for Prosthetics and Orthotic Service Provision are launched at the 16th ISPO World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa. 2018 • The ISPO Education Standards for Prosthetic and Orthotic Occupations are launched at the 2nd ISPO Global Educators Meeting in Leipzig, Germany. 2019 • The 17th ISPO World Congress is held in Kobe, Japan. 2021 • The 18th ISPO World is held virtually. 2022 • Global Educators Meeting 2022 held virtually. • ISPO launches first Prosthetics & Orthotics Day. 2008 • ISPO starts to accredit P&O training programmes worldwide. 2020 • ISPO celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
