ISPO is now accepting nominations for the Sepp Heim Award, established at the ISPO World Congress 2019 to honor Mr. Sepp Heim for his lifetime contributions to ISPO and the advancement of mobility device education and services in less-resourced settings. This award recognizes individuals or organizations that have made a significant impact on mobility device education and service provision, ultimately improving the lives of persons with disabilities.
Award Benefits
The recipient of the Sepp Heim Award will receive:
✔ An Award Certificate
✔ A $1,000 USD cash prize
✔ Complimentary registration to the ISPO World Congress (for the recipient or a representative if awarded to an institution/organization)
Who Can Be Nominated?
Any individual or institution that has significantly contributed to enhancing the availability, accessibility, affordability, quality, and sustainability of mobility device services in less-resourced settings. Contributions can be in areas such as:
- Development of sustainable clinical services
- Education and training of mobility device professionals
- Innovation in technologies or service approaches
- Environmentally friendly solutions to improve service sustainability
Nomination Process & Criteria
- Nominations can be submitted by any ISPO member.
- The nominee must demonstrate a measurable impact in at least one of the following areas:
✅ Improved service quality and functional outcomes
✅ Increased affordability for end-users
✅ Enhanced knowledge and technology transfer to service providers
✅ Sustainability-focused initiatives reducing waste and energy usage
Required Documentation
All nominations must be submitted online and include:

📌 Supporting letter(s)
📌 Full CV (for individuals) or institutional information
📌 Additional supporting documents (if applicable)
