Myanmar

The ISPO Member Society in Myanmar was created in 2013.
Due to longstanding internal conflicts and other reasons, the country’s percentage of persons with disabilities (PWD) is very high.
The creation of the ISPO Member Society in Myanmar aims at:
Forming a multidisciplinary team in the P&O field;
Providing the best quality of service to PWD in Myanmar;
Increasing the number of P&O professionals in Myanmar;
Promoting and upgrading P&O skills.
With the guidance of regional partners, ISPO Myanmar will work towards the standardization of the status of the P&O profession. Regional partners include: the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), the MRCS (Myanmar Red Cross Society), the JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency), the Cambodia Trust, Handicap International, and the Nippon Foundation.
