Prosthetics and Orthotics International (POI)
ISPO's journal, Prosthetics and Orthotics International (POI), is one of the major scientific publications in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. This international, multidisciplinary journal is addressed to all professionals who have an interest in the medical, clinical, rehabilitation, technical, educational, and research aspects of prosthetics, orthotics, and rehabilitation engineering, as well as related topics.
POI is distributed free of charge to ISPO members. Full access to the electronic publication, including pre-publication articles, is available to ISPO members and institutional subscribers. Selected articles are promoted in the ISPO eUpdate newsletter, which is available to readers via email notifications. Articles published more than two years ago are openly available through the journal website.
Published six times a year by Wolters Kluwer, POI contains review articles, original research reports, case studies and case series, clinical and technical notes, and book reviews pertinent to prosthetics, orthotics, and rehabilitation engineering practices. Special issues on specific topics of interest to the journal's readership, information about ISPO activities, and the reports of ISPO consensus conferences and working groups are also published along with the abstracts of ISPO World Congresses.
David Boone, the journal's Editor-in-Chief, and the Editorial Team are supported by nine Associate Editors and an Editorial Board of 25 eminent researchers based in universities and hospitals around the world.
