You will mainly study in the PFH’s ZHT Centre for Healthcare Technology, which is based in the building of the Göttingen University Clinic. Both artisanal know-how and well-founded scientific knowledge are indispensable to an ability to restore patients’ life quality in the best possible manner using medical devices like prostheses and orthoses (support devices). The occupational profile of the orthobionic practitioner is therefore characterised by orthopaedic as well as medical, engineering science and biomechanical components, which also enable him to participate in interdisciplinary care teams. In addition to the high practical orientation, there is a well-founded theoretical component for developing students’ analytical skills for working with patients and imparting the scientific foundations for continuing learning and research projects.
