Three-year Training Course
Classroom teaching comprises biomechanics, technical drawing and drafting, anatomy, physical science, lab technology, material technology and mathematics introduction (1748.5 hours). Hands-on practical instruction includes lower extremity orthotics and spinal orthotics in the first year of training and lower limb prosthetics at all levels of amputation in the second year, while the third year is exclusively geared toward gaining clinical experience (1607 hours). The students then fulfill an intensive six-week internship, providing supervised orthotic and prosthetic patient care in an outside rehabilitation centre.
